Low cement refractory castables refer to castables with CaO content less than 2.5% in calcium aluminate cement bonded refractory castables, that is, castables with a calcium aluminate cement addition of about 1/2 to 1/3 of ordinary calcium aluminate cement castables.
Low cement refractory castables are divided into three types: corundum, high alumina, and clay, with usage temperatures of 1700 ℃, 1400-1600 ℃, and 1350 ℃, respectively.
Low cement refractory castables have the following characteristics:
1. The low CaO content in the castable can reduce the formation of low eutectic phases in the material, thereby improving the refractoriness, high temperature strength, and resistance to slag erosion;
2. The blending water consumption of the pouring material during construction is only 1/3 to 1/2 of that of ordinary pouring material, resulting in low porosity and high bulk density;
3. After pouring and forming, there is less cementitious material generated during curing, and there is no significant hydration bond damage during heating and baking, resulting in a decrease in medium temperature strength. Instead, as the heat treatment temperature increases, the strength gradually increases;
4. By adjusting the strength composition of the casting material appropriately, it can be formulated into self flowing casting material and pump pouring casting material.
